2023 HALLOWEEN DECORATING CONTEST AND TRAIL WINNERS
Vincent Patrick Realty is excited to announce that our 4th Annual Halloween Trail was a huge success. This year we had 44 houses and businesses enter the contest. Every year the VP team looks forward to celebrating this event with the local community, and this year was no exception. Participating cities include; Garrettsville, Mantua, Streetsboro, Ravenna, Windham, Newton Falls, and Hinckley. Thank you to all participants who showcased their creativity and dedicated their time and effort to provide spook-tacular displays for the trail! We could not host the Halloween Trail without you! Winner Categories
One suggestion we received from previous Halloween and Holiday Light Trail’s was to include a judge panel. We decided to branch out into three winner categories: Fan Favorite, Judge’s Choice, and Hometown Favorite. We had a great voter turnout with 550 votes this year.

Judge’s Choice
#18. 2750 Shadley St, Streetsboro, OH 44241- Nightmare on Shadley Street
Congratulations to Desiree Simpson who won Judge’s Choice! With ten years of decorating experience under her belt, it is no surprise our judges, Matt Tyrell and Ali, picked her display at the Judge’s Choice. Nightmare on Shadley Street was also one of two winners for the 2022 Halloween Decorating Contest and Trail.
Halloween is a family tradition in Desiree’s family; In fact, her parents got married on Halloween! She loves all the decorations she’s accumulated over the years, but she has a sentimental attachment to the dancing werewolf, vampire, and skeleton her father passed down to her. Her twelve-foot skeleton is also one of her favorites. Her favorite part of Halloween is passing out candy to the almost 300 trick-or-treaters in the neighborhood. While getting ready for Halloween, Desiree loves that the neighborhood kids wait on the sidelines to see the decorations as they’re putting them up. Congratulations to Desiree and family!

Hometown Favorite
#2. 10663 Highland Ave, Garrettsville, OH 44231- Barber of G’ville and The Beauty Shop
Congratulations to the Barbershop of G’Ville and The Beauty Ship for winning Hometown Favorite! Brian and his wife, Kelly, as well as Chris, Julie, Dolores, and Gale, all worked together to decorate for Halloween. This was their first year decorating and they blew it out of the water! The decorating started when the girls in the shop put up Halloween lights in the Salon and then made their way over to the Barbershop. Brian surprised everyone by signing up for the competition; They didn’t know they were on the Halloween Trail until they got their designated voting sign! Their favorite decoration is the Skeleton with Scissors, which was made by Kelly. Their favorite part of the Halloween season is all of the children’s excitement- The coolest part of the trail was when a James A Garfield Bus stopped in front of the business so the kids could get out and check out the awesome decorations. We hope to see the Barber of G’ville and The Beauty Shop on the Halloween Trail next year!
Fan Favorite
#16. 13048 W Point Dr, Mantua, OH 44255- Wicked West Point
Finally, our Fan Favorite pick was Diane and Scott Erholm with a total of 135 votes! Their display, lovingly called “Wicked West Point” has been a winner in the Halloween Trail for two years in a row! Scott and Diane love chasing down good deals on Halloween decor, and when they found the 12-foot skeleton from Home Depot, they knew it had to be on center for their display. While the display has several different themes, they use the skeleton as a starting point and build outwards from that. Their favorite part of the Halloween season is seeing all the people who love their display. Their neighbors only have compliments for their display; Many of the neighbors stop by to take a look and to play with the fog machines! They have been decorating for Halloween for about 5 years now, but have loved Halloween since they were children carving pumpkins.

If you’re up for it, sign up for the 2023 Holiday Light Trail HERE. Sign up NOW through December 12th. Voting will take place from December 15th through December 28th. Winners will be announced December 29th, right before New Years!
