Halloween Decorating Contest 2020 Winner!
A successful first year.
13 houses entered VP Realty’s first annual Halloween decorating contest. The contest ran for the last two weeks before Halloween. Over 350 voters cast their votes. Third place was very close in votes. As a result, we will call it a tie! Third place goes to #8 on Park Ave. and #3 on Vanderslice Ct. Vandersclice Ct. was unique because all their decorations were homemade. You may remember Vanderslice Ct. as last year’s Light Up Garrettsville winner! Coming in at second place was #5 Nightmare of Wheeler Rd.” featuring Freddy Krueger & Michael Myers which included a radio station to tune your car to that syncs the lights and music.
and the Halloween Contest winner is…
The first annual VP Realty Halloween Contest winner goes to #1 “The Nut House on Gotham Rd!” Congratulations to Zach and Ashley Roosa! We interviewed Ashley Roosa, the owner of “The Nut House” to get the scoop on her decorations. Ashley stated the name “The Nut House” fits their home well. They are always running around and taking their kids to 4H, Girls Scouts, and Boy Scouts!
Ashley had the help of her husband Zach and 3 kids, Hailey, Hunter, and Hudson to create quite a display! Everywhere you look there was a skeleton or other scary object! Ashley stated that they shop all year long for Halloween decorations. Ashley even tried to get someone to cover for her at work so she would not miss out on a 6 ft. Skeleton Pony from local artist Joe Leonard. She did not get anyone to cover her shift but ended up going straight after work and got the pony before anyone else! She even drove to Roger’s Flea Market to pick up a pony skeleton.
Their Halloween displays started at West Branch Camp Ground. They are sure to get in early every year to camp at Halloween and be included in their contest. They pulled off first place last year with many other awards years prior. Ashley and her family enjoyed the many people stopping and viewing their display.
Thank you to all the 13 contestants we had this year. We had great feedback and look forward to next year. We hope to get businesses included and have even more houses! Be sure to check out our next event, Light Up Garrettsville at sellvp.com/lights
